More federalism, please

With Nitish Kumar and the JD(U) walking out on the BJP and with tentative talk of a federal front of state parties, India is back to discussing the third alternative for 2014. While nobody can categorically rule out the formation of a government not led by either the Congress or the BJP, it would be worth noting that such a government, inherently unstable and short-lived, is not the first option of most of its likely members themselves.
