UPA's jobless growth
The Government's latest unemployment survey, which says in no uncertain terms that jobs in India are fast disappearing, reiterates the Opposition's long-standing claim that nine years of economic growth under the Congress-led UPA regime has been ‘jobless’ in nature. This survey, which looks only at the two years between 2010 and 2012, was specially commissioned by the Government after the regular once-every-five-years unemployment survey undertaken by the National Sample Survey Organisation painted a bleak picture that the authorities simply did not wish to see.
