Kani, D Raja re-elected to RS from Tamil Nadu

DMK patriarch M Karunanidhi's daughter, MK Kanimozhi, an accused in the 2G spectrum scam, was re-elected to the Rajya Sabha on Thursday, thanks to the generosity of the DMK's archrival AIADMK leader Jayalalithaa. In the biennial election to the Upper House from Tamil Nadu held on Thursday, Kanimozhi scraped through with 31 votes. One vote from the DMK bloc turned out to be invalid. As expected, the four nominees of the AIADMK and the lone CPI nominee won the election with comfortable margins.
