Young MPs: What's murder around here?

“If following in the footsteps of the Mahatma were to ensure my electoral victory, I would have done so.” This is what a ‘dabang’ MP from Uttar Pradesh had to say soon after the Supreme Court ruled that people convicted for any crime or those who were in detention would no longer be allowed to contest elections. The young MP was making the point that use of muscle power was par for the course in his part of the world.
