Centre won't let CBI fly the coop

Not ready to free the ‘caged parrot’, the Centre on Friday told the Supreme Court that it was not in favour to vest more financial, administrative or disciplinary powers with the CBI Director, lest he became “all powerful.” In doing so, the Centre rejected almost the entire set of suggestion made by the CBI for greater autonomy.
