Telangana, beyond 2014

Through the "Gentlemen's agreement" forged in 1956, a part of the original area of Telangana was temporarily merged with Andhra Pradesh. Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K. Chandrasekhar Rao has been known to tell journalists that separate statehood for Telangana was merely a matter of arranging the "de-merger". That could rank among the understatements of 2013.
