SC: Appointment of V-Cs by former Bihar Guv illegal

Censuring the decision of Bihar's former Governor Devanand Konwar, the Supreme Court Monday quashed the appointments of nine vice-chancellors and two pro-vice chancellors made early this year by him. A Bench of Justices G S Sighvi and V Gopala Gowda held that the appointments made by Konwar as chancellor were not only "illegal" but also "contemptuous".
