SP gives Muslims 20% of welfare

In yet another measure to woo the Muslims before the 2014 Lok Sabha elections , the Samajwadi Party (SP) government in Uttar Pradesh has decided to earmark a quota of 20 per cent for the community in welfare schemes. In a state cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday, a decision was taken to introduce the quota in 85 schemes launched by 30 departments of the state government.
