She demanded suspension of ferry service from Tuticorin to Colombo because the Centre had not consulted before resuming it. And she put the Union government in a diplomatic spot by telling the Prime Minister that she proposed sending a delegation of Tamil Nadu MLAs to Sri Lanka for a spot study of the conditions of Tamils displaced due to the decades-old civil war.
