CBI tells SC to free it of babus

The CBI submitted before the Supreme Court on Tuesday that it needs to be freed from the clutches of the bureaucracy, which is proving to be a hurdle in its smooth functioning. "We need freedom from babudom," CBI counsel Amarendra Sharan told a bench headed by Justice R.M. Lodha, which is monitoring the probe in the Coalgate scam.
