SP regime in Uttar Pradesh has no one’s trust

The hostile reception which Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav received on his visit to strife-torn Muzaffarnagar on Sunday indicates that the people have lost trust in both his Government and the Samajwadi Party. Regardless of what triggered the violence and which political personalities fanned the flames, the bottom line is that the State administration, which should have moved quickly to douse the fire, dragged its feet for days together. When it chose to act, it behaved selectively.
