Gadchiroli sarpanches stand up to Naxal pressure

Until three months ago, Ramdas Harane from Kotgul village in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli, had to travel 25 km to go to the bank. Now, the village has one thanks to Korchi’s sarpanch sangathan. (The sarpanch sangathan is a group of 218 sarpanches, deputy sarpanches and members of the gram panchayat from Korchi town in the Naxal-affected Gadchiroli.)
