MHA for first time gives riots toll by religion

The government departed from set practice on Monday by making public the religions of those killed in communal clashes across the country. The statistics released by the Union ministry of home affairs at the National Integration Council meet stated “66 persons of the minority community and 41 belonging to the majority community have been killed in communal clashes across the country between January and September 15 this year”. A total of 107 persons have been killed in the country in communal clashes during this period.
