Convicted MPs, MLAs to stay put despite SC order

The Union Cabinet on Tuesday cleared an ordinance to neutralize Supreme Court's order mandating instant disqualification of MPs and members of state legislatures convicted for offences carrying sentence of two years or more, in a move which instantly came to be seen as designed to protect RJD chief Lalu Prasad.
