UPA allies rue govt flip-flop

UPA allies were unhappy with the government's flip-flop on the ordinance meant to protect lawmakers and the manner in which the issue was handled. Though the Union Cabinet approved withdrawal of the controversial ordinance on Wednesday, the allies were miffed over the way in which Congress managers dealt with the issue — Rahul Gandhi slamming it as "complete nonsense" publicly while the PM was away in the US for the UN General Assembly meet.
