Soaring vegetable prices touching a sore point
After a brief lull during the Navratra, onion prices have again broken previous records at Rs 80 a kg, and worse more, due to the skewed supply-demand ratio, it is likely to touch 3-digit figure in a few days. In some localities of South Delhi, onion is being sold at Rs 90/kg. Prices of other vegetables too have gone up unexpectedly. Cabbage is being sold at Rs 60 a kg, peas at Rs 80-100, cauliflower at Rs 70, french beans at Rs 70.
