Hindalco deal transparent, says Vinod Rai

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has an unusual supporter in former comptroller and auditor general Vinod Rai. The former auditor, who has been relentlessly attacked by the UPA government for CAG’s estimates of losses in the spectrum and coal scams, said allocation of the coal block to Hindalco was a transparent exercise; in fact, so much so that the auditor did not even mention it in its report on the Coalgate scam.
