PM and CBI spar over corruption

Our stoic prime minister can get angry too, as CBI Director Ranjit Sinha discovered on Monday. The provocation was what Sinha - emboldened towards autonomy by the Supreme Court's recent "caged parrot" observations - called "impropriety by policy makers" in his welcome address at an international conference, Evolving Common Strategies to Combat Corruption and Crime, organised by the CBI on its Golden Jubilee.
