No reason to ban opinion polls

Ever since TV channels and newspapers came out with opinion polls on the assembly elections, there has been talk of banning them. Two things are being said: first, that the polls are not scientific, as they are based on the opinions of a very small fraction of voters; second, that voters are influenced by the polls.
