The case against accused Editor-in-Chief of Tehelka, Tarun Tejpal, is straightforward and stark: alleged sexual assault and rape — grave cognisable offences punishable under Sections 354A, 354B, 376, and 376(2) of the Indian Penal Code — in addition to the non-cognisable offences specified by the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
