Indian right is agenda lite
If opinion polls prove accurate, a broadly right-wing alliance led by Bharatiya Janata Party should form the next government at the Centre after the 2014 elections. While all the excitement is around whether or not Narendra Modi will get to be Prime Minister, far more important are the implications of an outcome that might condemn India's left-of-centre politics in general and a bruised, battered and leaderless Congress in particular to long-term terminal decline.
