CBI tells SC it is not seeking extra-legal powers

The legal tussle between the government and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) over granting greater autonomy to the investigative agency continued on Monday with the CBI telling the Supreme Court that while it should be freed from the Centre’s excessive control, it did not seek extra-legal powers.
