Was that a big con on GM corn?

In September 2012, the journal Food and Chemical Toxicology published a paper that soon became among its most discussed. It was from Gilles-Eric Seralini of the University of Caen in France, and it purported to show that a particular variety of genetically modified corn causes cancer in rats. This paper was grist to the global anti-GMO mill. Genetically modified crops were banned in some countries.
