NOTA not an option

It was touted as the official tool for voters to express their disapproval of the candidates put up by political parties. In Delhi and Rajasthan, where the majority voted against the incumbent government, the NOTA (None of the Above) votes accounted for 0.63 per cent and 1.92 per cent respectively of the total valid votes. In Madhya Pradesh, the figure stood at 1.9 per cent, while it was 3.08 per cent in Chhattisgarh.
