AAP grabbed Congress's Dalit share in Delhi
In its first outing in the Delhi Assembly elections in 2008, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) won two seats riding on the Dalit vote in the metropolis. This time though, that strategy was reset by the Aam Aadmi Party in the Capital. While the BSP did field candidates, it drew a blank because the bulk of the Dalit vote went to AAP, which won the most reserved seats, and the most significant aspect of this victory in the Dalit vote.
