DMK rules out allying with Congress or BJP for 2014 polls

Chennai, Dec 15 - DMK president M. Karunanidhi Sunday declared that the party will not align with the Congress or the BJP for the 2014 general elections. He made the announcement at the DMK's general council meeting held here, a party leader told IANS. Reacting to the development, state Congress leaders said they had warned their party leadership that such a situation may arise. They also claimed that the step would not avail the DMK, which was a member of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance from 2004 to March 2013, much benefit.
