BJP enlists Ramdev to help build Sardar Patel statue

Controversial yoga teacher Ramdev is to help execute Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s project to build a massive statue of Sardar Patel, according to the project’s national convenor. In addition, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the BJP’s ideological parent, has asked its allied Hindu organizations to reach out to the nation’s estimated 650,000 villages to collect pieces of iron that would go into building what is planned to be the world’s tallest statute.
