Govt's earnings from 2G bids cross Rs 61k cr

The 2G spectrum auctions are turning out to be quite a windfall for the cash-strapped government with overall collections topping Rs 61,000 crore, which is around 10% lower than the Rs 68,000 crore that the Centre had garnered from the sale of 3G airwaves in 2010.
