Congress Down the Hill in South

The short shrift the Congress has now got in the new and prospective state of Telangana from the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is indicative of the shrinking fortune of the current ruling party at the Centre in the coming elections this summer. After daylong discussions, the TRS decided not to merge with the Congress. As for its alliance with a central party, the TRS has decided that it will be open to negotiations and the BJP is not ruled out in the political bargains characteristic of pre-poll alliances.
