Alienated DMK Faces Summer Washout

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is gearing up to face the coming Lok Sabha polls with its weakest alliance in decades. The party has been unable to attract even a single substantial ally, after having broken ties with the Congress in a bid to stem the backlash of its own anti-incumbency. A weak front and the political manoeuvres of AIADMK supremo J Jayalalithaa have put the DMK in a spot where it is staring at the real possibility of a rout.
