Sonia aide Ahmed Patel in a poll fix at home

Congress chief Sonia Gandhi's political secretary Ahmed Patel, who once throttled every dissenting voice when the party leadership handpicked candidates in Gujarat, seems to be caught between the devil and the deep sea this poll season. In Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi's scheme of things, Patel has reportedly been accorded the unenviable task of either finding a suitable party candidate or fighting the polls himself from his home constituency - Bharuch in South Gujarat.
