It will be hard for the Congress to repeat 2009

Kerala is one of the few States where the Congress was hoping for an encore. When the election season opened, along with Karnataka, Kerala was hopeful of sending a sizeable number of Congress MPs to the Lok Sabha. But the party may fall short of 2009 when the Congress-led United Democratic Front secured 16 out of 20 seats. Nevertheless, it may still manage to retain an edge over the CPI(M)-led Left Democratic Front.
