Polarization brings in voters by the hordes

The communally tense constituencies in western UP led the way as the third phase of polling on Thursday,covering 91 Lok Sabha seats across 14 states,registered an overall turnout of 65%. Muzaffarnagar,the centre of a month-long communal conflagration last year,saw 68.27% polling while Kairana,also hit by riots,recorded 69.40% turnout. Saharanpur,where Congress candidate Imran Masood had threatened to chop BJPs prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi into pieces,saw arecord 73.43% turnout.
