Birla Coal Case: The heat may reach Manmohan Singh if BJP comes to power

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is moving fast to conclude its investigation into the controversial case against top industrialist Kumar Mangalam Birla. While a top CBI official denied any link between the rapid pace of the probe and the apparent imminence of regime change widely predicted by opinion polls, other officials familiar with the case say the intent to wrap up the probe during the tenure of the incumbent UPA government.
