India needs ambitious national projects

The first train rolled into Arunachal Pradesh on 7 April. Neighbouring Meghalaya was linked to the national rail network just a few days earlier. The commissioning of an electricity transmission line between Raichur and Solapur in January plugged the one remaining gap in the creation of a truly national power grid.
