Vadodara poll vaults at 72%, Rae Bareli barely crosses 50%

Gujarat has emerged as the state with the highest increase in voter turnout so far over the last parliamentary polls, with 62% polling recorded on Wednesday as against 47.89% in 2009. In fact, the turnout in Gujarat is the highest in the last 47 years, next only to 63.77% recorded in 1967 general election.
