Don't hold your breath on Nitish vs Modi

Why would a shrewd politician like Nitish Kumar choose this time to set a deadline for the BJP to declare its prime ministerial candidate, or else? After all, his government in Bihar has two full years to run, and even Lok Sabha elections are one year away. This is political brinkmanship, the wary pacing between allies-turnedadversaries before engagement. Over the last 10 years or so, Kumar has cobbled up a coalition of non-Yadav backward and middle castes, and some Muslim communities.
