A post-Gaddafi Libya
As the net tightens round Muammar Gaddafi and his family, Nato deserves congratulations on having provided the platform for rebel success. The alliance went into action in March to save the eastern city of Benghazi, source of the uprising in the previous month, from terrible reprisals. Its enforcing of a no-fly zone and destruction of the regime's tanks, artillery and command and control centres have given the rebels the breathing space to transform themselves from a rabble into a more methodical fighting force.
