Fascist Bill gives greater scope for Third Front

The proposed usurpation of the authority of states by the centre under the Prevention of Communal and Targeted Violence Bill has given a new lease of life to the till now moribund third front. The coming together of Jayalalithaa and Chandrababu Naidu on the issue, and the Tamil Nadu chief minister’s letter to her UP counterpart Mayawati on the subject, mean that the contemplated legislation, which had earlier drawn flak from the BJP, is heading for rough weather in parliament.
