A dangerous dilution of Parliament’s authority

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament has accused the government of not complying with the process of taking timely and remedial action on the audit observations of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India. The CAG is the guardian of the public purse for both the Centre and State. This is the reason why B R Ambedkar said that the CAG shall be the most important officer under the Constitution of India.
