Government being ripped apart from withinThere may be no one like the former HRD minister Arjun Singh, who did not stand up when Manmohan Singh began conducting a Cabinet meeting on the plea of pain in the legs, anymore but the continuing kerfuffle between different ministries does not testify to the prime minister’s commanding presence in the government. Had he been in control, there would not have been so many instances of his colleagues speaking in different voices.
