Right on, Mr Sibal

The vision telecom minister Kapil Sibal has presented to the country through the Draft Telecom Policy 2011 is welcome. India needs converged services riding on fast, ubiquitous and affordable broadband to let people access not just voice communication but also government services, financial services, education, healthcare, news and entertainment, and that, too, in an interactive fashion rather than as passive recipients. All networks should be data networks, which offer voice as but one functionality.
