The Prime Minister, Mr Manmohan Singh’s assurance that the Right to Information Act would not be tampered with, should be taken not with a pinch of salt but loads of it, because there is every indication that the Union Government is contemplating its dilution in the wake of the major embarrassments it has caused through the various expose of scams.
