Congress clinches poll pact with RLD's Ajit Singh

The Congress and Ajit Singh's Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) have finalised a seat-sharing agreement for the coming assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh. Sources said Congress is likely to part with 45 assembly seats for the new ally. The seat-sharing pact was finalised after RLD agreed to abandon its claim for five seats in the Agra region, where Congress has already announced its candidates. Ajit Singh had earlier insisted on 'friendly fights' in these constituencies.
