Congress: Pot and the kettle

By criticising the “hue and cry” raised by Anna Hazare over the need for a strong Lokpal to check corruption in Government offices, Congress president Sonia Gandhi has betrayed her party’s failure to read the writing on the wall. Her statement flies in the face of popular mood. Ever since Anna Hazare burst on the scene with his anti-corruption campaign, the Congress has sought to discredit him and thereby distract attention from the issues raised by him and the UPA regime’s blotted copybook.
