Congress spending public funds to sell dynasty

While the Congress-led UPA Government, riddled with allegations of scams and pilloried for its paralysis on policy-making and implementation, has every right to counter its critics by publicising its so-called achievements, it has absolutely no right to squander tax-payers’ money to fund such a public relations exercise. But this is what the Union Ministry of Information & Broadcasting has brazenly done. It has released a massive sum of Rs 50 crore as the first instalment for a two-hour long audio-visual documentary glorifying the reign of Congress Prime Ministers. Nobody knows the entire outlay for this image-building effort, but it is expected to cross the three-digit mark.
