Stem the Slide

From Rs 44.04 per dollar in August to around Rs 53.71 now, the rupee's plummeting value represents a decline of over one-fifth over five months. Thanks to this steeper -than-anticipated fall, many are pushing the panic button. Among those affected are companies that depend on imports including raw materials or have large foreign loans, students overseas and Indians going abroad for tourism or health reasons.
