India Inc adding fuel to fire, says Angry PM

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh dispensed with his legendary silence to chide industry leaders, blaming them for spreading despondency with their persistent criticism of the government without understanding the compulsions under which it operated. "I must confess that it is a little disappointing to sometimes hear negative comments emanating from our business leadership or be told that the government's policies are causing slowdown and pessimism in the industrial sector. Such comments have added to uncertainty and have emboldened those who have no stake in our economic growth," a statement released by Singh's office after his meeting with corporate chieftains on Thursday said.
