Manufacturing grows at fastest pace in six months

The country's manufacturing sector rose at its fastest pace in six months in December on the back of robust domestic and oversees orders, a survey showed on Monday. The HSBC Purchasing Managers' Index ( PMI) - a headline index designed to measure the overall health of the manufacturing sector - registered 54.2 in December, up from 51.0 in November, and indicated the strongest improvement in business conditions since June.
